It's a dead sea
of humanity,
where survival's claws
have been plucked
through eons
of avarice;
a battle for
the next breath
of uncertainty.
Striving to reinstate
honour and hope,
when vicious action
deals hands
of rejection.
The ace of hearts
seems hidden;
fifty-one weeks
living at the
bottom of the pile;
existence;
one week,
when hearts pretend
to open.

I don't know what you're doing but in my heart you are hitting a lot of raw nerves right now... being at the bottom of the deck... but for once a year... making it to the top just to be spat on and put back....
Glad this got gold, going in my bookmarks

An Excellent Poem
This is an excellent poem and an exceptional piece of writing. There is so much depth and truth in your words. I have read this several times and each time I have read it I have found something new to see and think about. This is a great poem which I have thoroughly enjoyed reading. Thankyou. I wish you All Good Luck in the contest. All my very best wishes from Rose xxx
