after all this time?
Once upon a time your face flooded my mind
your eyes woke me up inside
brought me into the light of your smile
Niagara falls of tears when you left
accumulated resentment
such a cruel oblivion Was forced upon me
My common sence is screaming to leave you here
take my heart and bury it deep inside
my heart is crying out for yours
the softness of your voice soothes my soul
I can't seem to pull my hand away from yours
though your only resting your warmth on my palm
slightly carressing the center, sending chills
like lightning though my veins...
Tears filled my eyes as our past came rushing back
I dont want this to be just a beautiful illusion
If I didnt know any better, I'd still be in love with you
Your arms embrace me within the strenth of your chest
as my heart pounds with uncertainty
moist lips pressed against mine with soft pressure
I feel as if I'm falling deeper and deeper
as minutes upon minutes pass by quickly
I didnt want to look into the eyes of the one I'm drawn to
How easily I'm here, right now, with you
doing things we wouldnt dream of
when we were childhood friends
I was addicted to you when we played
so young, so nieve,so full of curiosity
Maturity comes so quickly,years pass
How can I turn down such an opportunity
I don't want to be a fool
yet I dont want to let go of you
as we lay together
for the first time in 15 years
Our friendship turned into something so much more
that night..
As I enjoy your scent of your body
in the morning light...

This is definitely my favorite stanza, very powerful, indeed! This is a wonderful write, illustrating the reservations of feelings thought gone, but just buried underneath the jumbled memories of life. I have been in this moment, thanks for bringing up some wonderful memories of my own! I love how the last lines mirror a new beginning!
