If you blink
It might slip from your grasp
At times it speeds by
Leaving you struggling to catch your breath
Sometimes it moves slowly
Breaking your heart piece by piece
It will jerk you roughly
Along a bumpy path
It's gonna carry you soothingly
Down a gentle lane
Someday it will hurt you
Stabbing you where you're weakest
Then it'll nurse your wounds
Restoring you back to health
You'll be shoved to ground
And lay there awhile weeping
Gently you'll be picked up
And helped back to our feet
You'll travel along fear as well as comfort
And love
As well as hate
It'll take away
What you love
But give you something new
To help you carry on
When riding through life
Try not to blink
Don't let opportunities slip away
When life speeds by
Grab a hold for the ride
Push through it
When life jerks you roughly
Hold tight for each bump, roadblock and fall
When life hurts you
Forgive it
Then life tries to heal you
Let it near your wounds
When life shoves you to the ground
Don't just sit there and weep

Take it
When you travel along fear
Search a way to comfort
When you find love
Don't hold back becuse of fear or hate
When life takes what you love
Keep you eyes open for that something new
Life has it's ups

That's what keeps me going
