Counting sun in shadow of ancient urn
from time before Forgiveness sent
when Gods walked the Earth
squandered happiness among mankind,
worlds sat upon edges of seas
and stars danced for men's pleasure;
time has ruined painted symbols
and forgotten the hands that made the walls
and worlds have seemed to vanish;
man took fires of ancient legends, rebuilt
its place in time, many instances ever seeking more.
For clock faced time rounds us, and someday
there may be eyes that gaze in wonder
upon shattered shard or arcane remnants of us;
and count dimmer suns in lighter shadows
that we may leave behind.

'Squandered happiness', seriously, how great is that line!
Great personification of words, and it plays well with that of stars.
'Counting dimmer suns in lighter shadows'... I've not been so close to tears in some time.
