ripple air
a fluttered brace
of sound
startled alertness
and
infinity’s lined horizon
where
fog fades way to sun
wrinkled darkness peels
back
to
emergent day
as when summer bends colors
green
into harvests of rainbows
prayers and dreams
move
wind-driven
from earth to sky
an ultimate
transition
breath becomes light

"prayers and dreams
move
wind-driven
from earth to sky"
My favorite lines of this gracefully written piece of your heart. I love the way the whole write sails softly, calming the soul.
Then....
"breath becomes light"
Awesome.

I read your divine words ...
and followed your link ... and "your kingdom come ... on earth as in heaven" ... simply made such sense to me. And many, many angels surrounded me suddenly: a vicissitude of soul.
OH!
Such lovely phrasings here ... "summer bends color" simply enchanted me with the rolling sound of motion. As the rest of the poem did!
Thank you for this very spiritual vibration of musings.
Love
Myra

the drive from our home in southern california to Redding, california is about six-hundred miles and takes about ten hours to get there...we had heard of this place, this church, for its reputaion but the experience, the encounter, in reality, was more than anything expected.
blessings and best wishes,

I watched a flower grow in my mind as I read this...a prayer of life made visible...Shepherd, you write prayer as most of us breathe and your words take our breath away then give it back to us...Awesome...Bless you Richard, always, Rhonda

"breath becomes light"... that is so very beautiful, Richard and one of the best metaphors for prayer that I've read in a while. You wrote the power of change here and it moves, all the way from earth to sky. A beautiful weave of nature and spirituality here, but then, they are one, aren't they. This is a gentle ripple, a soft breeze you've written here (and I learned a new English word too)!
