Turkeys Done

For once, Christmas was golden- beautiful lights mistletoe and ribbons.
I thought I would invite all my family, the ones who were all hurt
By some type of tragedy. I learned to forgive- and forget all the previous pains,
No reason to stand in the cold rain. I wrote out my invitations my sons picture
In a frame... I sent them out, signed and with a special note (I would love if you came)
Christmas arrives; I cooked stuffing, made apply pie, and my dad’s favorite dressing.
6:00 Pm rolled around and went, as I waiting for the turkey to finish cooking...
I waited for the doorbell, which would never ring.........

The turkey was done, and still no one came....
Alone on Christmas, and still I realized I wasn't forgiven...
I had no idea, this Christmas was only for the living...

Please tell me what you think
