Only Pretending!

Santa's dead? - it can't be true,
No more toys for me and you.
It can't be real, must be a joke,
Dig him up, give him a poke.
Perhaps that's how he gets his sleep,
Six foot under, nice and deep.
Then Christmas eve, he's bright and breezy,
Refreshed from sleeping, nice and easy.
That headstone isn't all it seems.
It's just part of Santa's schemes!

I knew Santa was a schemer, I could see it in those beady eyes. One of the funniest graphics I've seen on the internet is a young boy crying and in the background is a headstone with the name :Santa Claus" on it. Bad taste but funny, lol.

Hopefully Mrs. Claus will take over her busband's route is he is dead.

Thanks for reading some of my poems, much appreciate your comments. This poem was based on the graphic you mention, for one of the contests on here, but as I am no longer a paying member, it isn't showing.

    Awww...cute pic!

Heh heh heh! How to traumatise a child, eh?

Well crafted piece here, nicely embodying (forgive the pun) the spirit (oops!) of the picture.

Here's wishing you every success with this funny, well written poem, dear Poet.
