No No Teacher

I can understand you wanting to teach your students
About being fair, and nice, or being rude
Conducting discrimination issues without any warning
Is considered unethical and very crude

You picked on people with brown eyes and blue
Pin a symbol on the clothes that they wore
How did you think they a lesson would learn
When you added humiliation and much more

Discrimination of someone, for the color of their eyes
Seems very hurtful and senseless indeed
Supposing they had one brown eye, the other one blue
Do you think your experiment will plant a good seed

In the growing years of children
They need to receive an abundance of love
And teachings such as yours my friend
Needs to be handled with pure kid gloves

Author notes

In my opinion the teacher should have made her plans known to the students and parents. Asked for volunteers and used more than just the color of one's eyes. I have a niece who has one brown eye and one blue eye. She grew up with lots of love and we all said she was lucky as she could wear any color of clothing. We spoke openly about it and so did she. She learned it was a special gift to have one eye brown and one eye blue.

First, let me say, I LOVE it when people have two different colored eyes I am sure she's very beautiful!

The last stanza in your write is very true, but try to think how asking for volunteers and telling them would have totally ruined everything. The students would think of this as fake and just for fun, they would not see the value and lesson behind it as much. I do agree that it did make the children feel bad and at first I wasn't sure what to think. But once she explained everything to the children afterward, they understood and realized the teacher didn't mean things she said. I totally see where you are coming from though because at first I felt exactly the same.

Thank you so much for sharing your point of view Best wishes in the contest
