Invoke!
You, angel,
yes, you I say.
Invoke those things
for which you aren’t known;
invoke in me anger
invoke in me sadness
invoke in me hate
invoke in me joy.
Invoke in my past
those things which I miss;
invoke my old toys
invoke my old friends
invoke my imaginary friends
invoke my mother’s brow-kiss
invoke in my present
those things that I have;
invoke no money
invoke a long love
invoke a great family
invoke music and literature.
Invoke, finally, in my future
where I have things I don’t have now;
invoke a job
invoke a car
invoke a life
invoke a ring.
Invoke! Invoke! Invoke!
Author notes
A litany that was HEAVILY editted from what it was at first. It even changed names. For my poetry class.
