S-howing her off for many years, I,

H-old memories of times gone by.

A-dmiration for many, I give a 

D-isplay of respect.

O-nce new and bright, now,

W-ar ravaged, worn and torn.

B-ecause I, protect her beauty forever;

O-ld glory, all though

X-anthous now, I display her with pride.

    You worked the prompt beautifully and I love reading acrostic poetry. My Mother had shadow boxes on the wall and I remember looking at all the things they displayed. Your poem brought back many memories for me. Best wishes in the contest.
