The Mind Mold

But I don't think I deserve more
Or better
I just deserve the same
Except different

Blessings are curses
And curses are blessings
One isn't without the other
Why should this brain
Be any different

But they call me "elitist"
'Cause I want what's best for me
'Cause I can't fit into that mold
So I ask for another one

They call me "arrogant," even "stupid"
'Cause I think in abstract ways
'Cause I sometimes can't say what I'm thinking
Except in these poems
But it's no better than anyone
I'm just a different kind of different

Really, don't laugh. It's hard to be gifted/jifted. You get so lazy that when you're actually challenged you don't know what to do. That's why we end up being drug dealers and mass murderers.

If we were to wake up some morning and find that everyone was the same race, creed and color, we would find some other cause for prejudice by noon.

I think this quote is really true because...well...we already discriminate on so many other things: age, sex/gender, weight, height, intelligence...the list just goes on and on.

    I found myself hanging a little at the end. Which is a good thing, I liked the unque twist to this piece

    The first and third stanzas are my favorite. This is a very bold write such speaks on the truth and not just what people want to hear. Excellent job.
