Notebook paper

She looks at her folder,
In the middle of a daydream in class.
She reads under the scribbled lines,
“I’d die without you.”
She once said she did,
She’d die without his love.
In a time of pain and struggle,
Those lyrics got her through.
Scribbled pen and ink words,
Written down months ago,
When she needed him.
One day she knew she’d live,
She’d press on.
And she took her pen,
And she scribbled out those words,
The past cannot be erased,
But you can scribble over it,
And make room for the new.
But whenever you’d like,
You can look under that think patch of ink,
Mistakes can’t be erased,
So regret nothing.
Just fix things,
And move on to the next moment.
