Questions You Won't Ask

Dear Lord, I prayer to thee
May your blessings stay always with me
The lessons learnt
The quests accomplished
All are steps up the ladder
To be nearer to you

The laid path before me
I try following straight
With few hitches along my way
I sometimes stray farther from you
But only to find the light
At the end of the tunnel
With you standing with open arms
To take my helpless hand
And walk with me

As I wait for my judgment day
And it shall come some day
When the time is right
For me to be at your feet
I know the questions you won’t ask of me

What plot size was your house, you don’t seek
But the number of people you sheltered you ask for
What brand of car I drove, doesn’t matter
But how many I helped the ones with no transportation
Lord wouldn’t be impressed to see the branded clothes
But will know the ones I helped clothe

The pay stub with highest salary won’t count
But the path walked on to get it
Will be looked upon
Be a President of the company
Or be a unknown employee
Doing the job to best of the ability
With full responsibility and accountability
Is what Lord seeks

We count our blessings with our friends
In the chapter of friendship its written
So, not how many was I blessed with
Instead how many I was a friend to
Will be the asked question

How many beauty pageants I won
Am I fair or wheat in complexion
Or just plan black or white is my skin
Nothing will matter in the long run
But the content of my character should shine

Despite it took so long to realize
Lord never would ponder upon
The question, why it took so much time
To seek ultimate salvation
Instead he will welcome with open arms
Greet us with divine smile
Take us to his humble mansion
Leaving gates of hell far behind

So, I close my eyes
Ask for your guidance
As long as I shall live
Let me keep my faith
Grant me the strength
To always walk your laid path
Let me be your humble servant
To serve with kindness
And, treat all beings with respect

As I take on my responsibilities
I shall stay accountable to you
I am only human though prone to sin
But with your helping hand holding me
I shall swim through Satan’s valley
And never shall drown

Dear Lord, help me remember
All the questions you wouldn’t ask
But the commandments I lived
Through the ups and downs
Of my journey on this earth
In the arms of Mother Nature

In joyous moments of life
I will praise thee lord
When difficulties are on my side
I will come seeking thee lord
In my solitude
I will pray to thee lord
When I shall shed painful tears
I will keep the candle of hope burning
With my trust in thee lord

…And with every moment passing by
I do, I will always be thanking you Dear Lord….
