Eyes fixed on the centre of the city, shimmering in the morning light.
What a pretty, pretty sight, in the morning, morning light!
Two minutes to target..no sirens to hear!
Only parched dry mouths..sweat and fear!
"Automatic Pilot and bombs away!"
Incinerating..men!..women!.. and children! on that unforgotten day!
Visable target! 264..fire away..
100,000 humans incinerated on that unforgotton day!
Okay! Got the bridge! 42 seconds and the bomb will explode!
Shockwaves! Aeroplane crincles from the blast!
100,000 men! women! and children die.. on that one day in the past!
Now.. nothing to see!.. Atomic explosion!.. Smoke filled mushroom
with a fiery red core!
Hiroshima doesn't exist anymore! 100,000 fellow humans obliterated.

Showing the effects of the start of the Nuclear Power Arms race. It is not meant to offend any nation or person. This bombing was in retaliation to Pearl Harbour, another disaster.
There are enough Nuclear warheads to destroy the earth numerous times over. Hospitals cannot afford to buy life savng machinery, half the world starves, and the nuclear arms race goes on.
Is there any Solution and why do you answer?

There will never be an end to mans inhumanity to his fellow man. For as long as there are people on this planet, someone will want what someone else has. We are supposed to be higher than animals but we have destroyed more on this earth in our short space of time in the history of our planet and at a frightening pace that nature can't keep up with. You have written on just one event and there have been so many and one man's good is another man's evil. A well written and thought provoking piece though, well done

It is well and truely true what you said "there will never be an end to mans inhumanity to man" there is so much greed and corruption existing today that it is almost unreal and unbeleivable except that we see it all around us for ourselves. it's unreal how everyone wants peace and yet all we get is one war after the other. It's certainly true what it says at 1 John 5:19 The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.

How do you comment on this poem. It sound like hell to me. Isn't that what is coming Heaven or Hell! Doesn't Gods word say he is coming again for those who believe in him and the world as it is will be no longer. For God will make all things new. No more nuclear warheads in the life of eternity after we leave this earth, right? Satan and the angels who fell from heaven with him will all burn in hell someday, also with those who don't believe in Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, right? I aask questions for you are so knowledgable. Thank you for reading my poetry and commenting and thank you for sharing your poem with me.

You have raised some very interesting questions in your comment Kelle, more than one I think, let me see. Questions as listed and taken from your interesting comment, if you feel like you want to reply back, on my poem page please do so, or if you want to message me privately, and have a private answer, then I am happy to do this I will direct you to Gods word the Bible and the scriptures for your answers.
Question 1. Isn't that what is coming heaven or hell?
Answer 1. The Bible says at Genesis 1:1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...It does not say God created hell, therefore if God did not create hell, what is your understanding of what hell is?
Question 2. Doesn't Gods word say he is coming again for those who beleive in him, and the world as it is will be no longer?
Answer 2. Gods word says at Matthew 7:21-24 "Not everyone saying to me Lord, Lord will enter into he Kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in heaven will.
Many will say to me in that day Lord, Lord, did we not prophecy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name? and yet I will confess to them: I never knew you! get away from me you workers of lawlessness.
Therefore everyone who hears these sayings of mine and does them, will be likened to a discreet man who built his house upon the rockmass."
You mentioned above Doesn't Gods word says he is coming for those who beleive in him?
Does it surprise you that even Satan and his fallen angels now called demons beleive in God? James 2:19 You beleive there is one God do you? You are doing well, yet the demons beleive and shudder. But do you care to know O empty man that faith apart from works is inactive.
[So there is more attatched than beleiving in God, many say that they beleive in God, and yet they do not do as he asks of them, this is why so many bring Gods name into disrespute. Look at all the wars in the world and yet Gods word says thu shalt not kill, can it really be said that people who kill and maim innocent men, woman, and children are doing God will just because they say they beleive in God this leaves the question "What is Gods will for mankind today and how can it be accomplished?"]
Question 3. No more Nuclear war in the life of eternity after we leave this earth?
Answer 3 It says at Isaiah 2:4 And he will certainly render judgement among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears [making their weapons of war into gardening and farming instruments,] Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war any more.
[So there is to be no more wars on the earth, but why make the weapons of war into gardening tools if we are going to leave the earth?]
Where will we use these gardening and farming tools?
Also see Psalms 37:11,29 and ask yourself how long does God say we will reside on the earth? I am not giving you the answer here Kelle, as I'd like you to read it from your Bible, this way you are making the truth your own.
Question 4. Will Satan and the angels who fell from heaven with him all burn in hell someday, also all those who don't beleive in Christ as their personel Lord and Savior?

wow, very powerful! Well worded, great visual images in your write. So sad that wars kill or injure so many innocent people. We've had wars since the beginning of time - you would have thought we humans would have learned how to exist together as a species. One can only hope, but with the events of the past even up into the present day - it's a bleak hope unfortunately.

I was watching a program on the television about Hiroshima, so many innocent children died, and it said that their flesh literally melted from their bodies, I am sure you will agree that this was horrendous to think of people dying like this this caushed me to write this poem I also saw a program on the bombing of Pearl Harbour, another atrocity.
Gone are the days when war was fought on the battlefields as man has progressed so has his nuclear weapons. Think of all the good that could have been acheived in a united world working for the benefit of mankind and not the destruction of fellow humans and the planet.
In the Bible it tells us that one day the God of heaven will set up a Kingdom that will rule the earth, then we will have world peace, through this Kingdom the one you pray for in the Lords prayer when you pray Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Jesus is called the Prince of Peace, and the Kingly rule will rest upon Jesus Christ to Gods praise and glory. Peace through the Kingdom of God not through mankinds futile efforts -

I think I saw that program - made me sick to think of those innocent and the flesh just melting...so unthinkable, sometimes, what mankind can do to mankind. And yes, it is a great sorrow that 'those in power' couldn't use their power to better our planet and the people on it; feed the poor; create peace, etc. But....someday.

VERY INTENSE AND TRUE!!!!
So many innocent people died that day and once again our leaders did what they thought was right and maybe again it was. Many thousands of soldiers may have been saved by that bomb being dropped, but at what cost? As you say, at the cost of thousands of innocent people. Was it right? Is there a clear and honest anwer? People will always differ on this and sadly we cannot take back what was done.
