The drifting soul, a true epitome of death
I hold in my hands the ashes of love
Until there is nothing left
I've imagined it all
My daring escape
The evacuation of my soul
Within the throes of heartache
So with bleeding hands…
And a bleeding heart,
I scream and tear into my soul…
I rip my world apart
The rainfall does not cleanse me
These tears, they never die
I fall into the arms of darkness
A suffocated light…
I remind myself of all those things
I used to do before
Those days when light was my savior
And somehow I wished for something more
Now I am bound by the energy
The collision of time
The epiphanies of consequence
In this ever broken life
She is the empty shell
Of everything we'd hoped
She's our darling angel
Sent from heaven
To help us down this road
I am Uriel, a guardian of the pits of hell
I smear the blood of lambs upon your door
And hope your firstborn son is well
I lead Abraham away to the safety of God
And I am left behind to smolder
Decay, and rot, my good intentions
Nevertheless forgot
I used to be an angel
At least that's what they say
I used to be an angel…
In these gardens of regret I stay.

This is truly the darkest and most hopeless entry in the contest so far. The perspective from which it is written is creative to say the least. I absolutely adore it.

Oh ho! Beautifully and amazingly written my friend. This piece has shot up to one of my favorites by you. It is simply great and I'm sure Uriel has never been portrayed more melancholy than this. Well, if anyone remembers Uriel. I loooooooooooooooooove this piece. There's nothing I can really say about this.
Masterpiece
