No Christmas for me

It's begining to look alot like Christmas
everywhere but here
There's no need to make a list
we can't afford no gifts
No kissing under the misotoe for me...
It's begining to look alot like Christmas
everywhere but here
No presents to be wrapped
No food to make us fat
We won't be carroling out in the streets...
It's begining to look alot like Christmas
everywhere but here
The children are all grown
they won't be coming home
Saying Merry Christmas on the telephone...
It's begining to look alot like Christmas
everywhere but here
I'm feeling kinda blue
Usually not a Scrooge
Inside me is a humbug or two...
It's begining to look alot like Christmas
everywhere but here
The weather is insane
Instead of snow there's rain
Frosty want be leading the parade...
So there's not going to be
no Christmas for me
I'll just drink a case of beer
And see you all next year

Thanks much for reading and commenting! Don't worry about me...I just made this up so hopefully we will all have a great Christmas! Although times are hard for alot of us this year we need to remember what's important and take the time to smile at ourselves!

    Congrats on the HM!

So sad, I suppose Christmas looses its sparkle once the children have left home. Not given that much thought till now. This is a very well penned piece, glad to see a trophy next to it

      Thanks

Thanks for the congrats! Didn't even know I got an honorable mention.lol It was just made up but I guess some people took it serious! "if you can afford the beer, you can afford food" yes I agree food comes before beer! Anyway the truth behind this poem was what you got behind it-Christmas does "loose its sparkle once the children have left home"
Thanks for your insight on this!!

    This is quite sad....

    We make our own world.....
You could change traditions....and if you can afford the beer, you can afford food!
    Thanks for a great entry!
    *PEACE*
