The Murmur In My Heart

Daydreaming has become more than just an escape
Words formulate to explain every image and scene
A form of expression I don't intend to reshape
It is something that can not be foreseen
It's the murmur in my heart
Feel my chest and feel it start
When I am speechless I am understood
I can understand things that I never could
The words put on paper just make sense
Even when I feel I'm being dense
Things could be filled with passion or with lust
The one solid thing I have come to trust
The safest place is within my mind
But I can now share it with mankind
A continuous roller coaster that gives a rush
This murmur in my heart will no longer hush
It may speed or it may slow
But thank goodness it will never go
Because when people let you down
This is an old friend that will keep you on the ground
Can you feel the breeze of the calming wind?
That is this companion letting you in
Do you feel a sensitive touch that's erotic?
It will let you be hypnotic
Are you ready to break down and cry?
It will listen as you tell it why
Are the flowers smelling oh so sweet?
It will let you reveal this treat
Are you angry and want to scream?
This friend will listen to every extreme
Do you just want to disappear?
It will let you do that never fear
Feeling all alone?
Well it will be your home
So this is the murmur in my heart
I'm lucky it is a form of art

You touch on one of the beautiful aspects of poetry - the enabling of one to share the personal thoughts of the mind through it's medium.
