You found a greener pasture
in a wallet that was filled
with lots of plastic cards to use
and hundred dollar bills
Lord, my mind keeps on remembering
the way it used to be
when we were only dating
and you went down on me
You said you needed simple things
and I would prob’ly do
but through those days of purple haze
the pills we’d not eschew
Then another lifestyle called you
that you could not refuse
I was left with all the bills to pay
and a picture of you, nude
When you honeymooned in Vegas
he promised you’d not lose
But the chips now come in plastic bags
his plan was all a ruse
You were always one for dreaming
but your dreams did not cash in
and you’re back to where you started
when you went down on men
Yeah, honey
you’re back to where you started
when you went down on men

My God, I won't get lengthy here but you can be humorous even when things are at their worst
Well babe, you are the better man through all of this. Remember you are loved
Be well and be blessed

well i'd put in my 2 cents but the price has gone up thanks to Bush,
so no wonder she's upped her price to get near her's! So in an effort to support those less fortunate than myself I will put in my 5.00! First, I think its high time people learn to forgive and forget and get their priorities in order. I'd take Clinton's blow job over Bush's act of treason(to which no one deems important enough to have the man impeached) any day of the week. At least Clinton kept his word and got the terrorists of the first bombing and they are in jail long before he went out of office. And not to mention the fact that while he was in office this country had the best financial times in history. We could actually afford to live! Excuse me but I don't see Osama in jail!!! What he did with Monica is between him, his wife and God....and there isn't a man out there that wouldn't have initially lied about it in the first place. The first person they would deny it to would be their spouse, what makes someone think they would then openly admit it to the public before their spouses? plaaaaaaease!!! move on already its getting old!!!!!And if Hugh Grant has a penchant for hookers that is his business not ours! Everyone has their kink. Be careful of those glass houses!
I find it funny, that anyone should have a disparaging remark about the hooker but not about the man "seeking" her out. Like gee, who keeps who in business??? If she is a smart girl, she charges extra for swallowing and facials and pockets it. Hold out sweety, never give a man all of it! yeah life wasn't so green on the other side of the fence, but who's to say there weren't some weeds and crab grass on the one she was standing on initially? Seems to me she was trying to take a step up , like life, sometimes the magic works, and sometimes it doesn't. But won't know unless you try! Wow.....that was $5.00 well spent...LOL!
Impeccable rhyming with that zany sense of humor of yours Leo!! Love the disclaimer thought that was a hoot!!!

I was both amused and felt a little saddened by this, sad for the girl. It seems to be the lot of many, some more so than others. On the amusing side, I too thought of Hillary in the White House
I wonder if she's thought about that in her hopes of making it there... making it or 'making' it... I know, I'm bad
This is a a very good piece (no pun intended) and I bet a lot of guys have fond memories of that first time and the girl's future actions.

Sly Writing (but I get it)
I know -- this is about mining. Personification of shafts in the mine. Getting the shaft in more ways than one. (You can't fool me.) I'm Tiki, The Cat, Poetry Professor -
there are times when going down doesn't work that well.
Instead of rising higher she chose to kneel deeper, and that was the result lol
Very good one Leo! don't know how I missed it, was about to ask you (again) why you haven't posted anything recently.

Billy Bob ...
Clinton sprung into my mine, albeit a few minor changes! and the Oval office will never be the same! God forbid it should become Hillary's ... "What was He thinking?" anyway ... a good ending to a never ending profession that has plenty of takers ...!

A Professional
at work.
And, Leo, no doubt your mind was at work, too.
Hugh Grant springs to mind!
Your verse is rollicking good fun with a moral of sorts to it, of course. Ron.

Phewwww
Glad to hear this is fictional as the picture it paints of the narrator and subject is painful and degrading.
Sounds like a bit of another AP poet I once read. -
It's funny how ironic this is. I feel sorry for her and for the jilted lover. You wrote it so well that one feels for both - in my mind that absolutely rocks. That's you though - you always know how to spin a poem so one can see all of the layers. Well done Leo.

I feel like this girl lives inside of alot of people, and not just women. Very realistic, you portray the brutal subject very well.
Nice Job.

Going down has always been one of my very favourite phrases. What a pity Dickens never knew it. Just imagine if he had.....
"A Christmas Going Down"
"Nicholas Go-Downleby"
"A Tale of Two Godowns"

WoW!! What a great read this one is! Very vivid! But you know, this seems to happen all to often in todays world.

-
theres a clear visual in your words, nice job.

hm... this is pretty good. I like how you put all of this into words... nice flow. Nice choice of words. keep up your great work!

Hahahaha
That'll teach her, huh? LOL You are too witty for words. I will say I loved this! She should have stayed up top. The air is cleaner there, and it's much easier to breath! Don't have to come up for air, ya know!
Love You ♥
