story(unamed)--prolouge

Prologue:

At dawn, a person with brown hair, bluish-greenish eyes, and a grim smile approached a woman. “Isabella,” he said, and knelt.
“Rivon,” she answered, and stood up.
“I’m ready.”
“I know you are.”
“What about Shinku?” Rivon asked, apparently worried.
“Rivon, I know you’re anxious, but YoKo will care for him,” Isabella assured Rivon.
Rivon scowled at the name “YoKo”. Isabella noticed and snapped, “Well, if you feel that way, then why don’t you let her go and you can stay here and tend to Shinku.”
Rivon looked stricken, then hung his head and muttered, “I’m sorry.”
Obviously pleased, Isabella said her final words to Rivon, “You can only be gone for so long. That’s why I timed your mission—it will now be two months. If you fail—which I highly doubt you will—YoKo will take your place. But I must beg this of you, Rivon, please, please, hurry. If all goes well, we might just have Ilea back with us again.” With that, Isabella turned around and walked away.

Rivon stood at the top of a cliff, muttering words over and over again until they altogether made no sense. I will miss you. The voice came from a black, ferocious dragon. His eyes were always so bright and shining, but not today. Today, his eyes were dull and sad.
Please don’t be sad, Rivon told the dragon. The maximum time I will be gone is two months. My mission is timed, thanks to Isabella.
“Master Rivon,” panted a man from the bottom of the cliff. The man was Amus, a servant to both Isabella and Rivon. Amus was breathing hard, probably from running.
“Yes, Amus?” questioned Rivon.
“I was sent to get you. Wasn’t it time for you to leave?” explained Amus.
Rivon groaned, hugged his dragon, and started down the cliff where Amus was tapping his foot impatiently. Rivon and Amus started walking north, into the mountains just behind the castle where Isabella ruled.
As they disappeared from view, the dragon heaved itself into the air, and flew into the other direction where a magnificent castle stood.
