Thank you Cento

This winter's party came with love so dear;
for something quite profound is taking place,
time for a sonnet or two or three to spin against the years.
Gateways of her path become her grace

so many years in tasks of small import
Remember to do your utmost to let your love show
Giving and kind and fresh with thoughts
Weaving your thoughts ‘til that tapestry grows.

So near to Christmas, all aglow In sparkling white?
cadence heard with reader’s soft sigh,
brilliant shining light, said "peaceful is her fight."

may angels, mortals and Supreme
gift you with inspiration's hue.
Paving the path that runs from word to word.
Written with skilful ease
With the grace of falling leaves
a muse that always yields
word treasures on the golden path

Author notes

Like Lyndon's, this is not to be considered for competition. In this cento I have borrowed lines from each of the entries (with apologies to Vera for lack of nous, and to Rahad for thorns).

    You are a birthday darling.

I wish, I know I wish, I could give you a Centro gold. A Centro, for your readers, is like a patchwork Quilt. The kind my wife makes. Dear soul, fast asleep.
It is obvious from the above, that Margaret is also an excellent Quilter.

Very interesting and well handled... A well-tyurned cento (like this) looks remarkably easy to achieve... but let anyone who thinks that just go and try it!

Hehe, thank you Vera. Who counts the time when it is something to love? It was fun to sort and ponder - I'm happy with the leftover benedictions at the end.

    What a lovely idea!

Ah, MargaretG...thank you in return for the time you must have spent going through our poems and garnering one line from each to create this lovely compilation piece. A Cento with the most-o!

    And thank YOU!

Astounding that in works so diverse, so many actually rhymed, and others fit so well into context!

You tie a lovely bow in these ribbons around the gift.
