Contemplating such things as
why we close our eyes
just before a kiss and
the powerful intoxication
of being in love,
I smile knowing that
I’ve experienced
these things and
much more like;
have you ever really
looked at the
wondrous intricacies
of ice crystals
on a window
kissed by winter?
Have you ever seen
the glowing
smiling face of a child
who admires you dearly?
Have you ever
pressed your ear
to the chest of
the one you love and
listened
to their heartbeat?
I ask these questions because
life goes by fast and
special moments
don't seem to last and
are at the very least
fleeting so
don’t blink
because you just might
miss something.
