The Barista

He caught a strand of her spun secret hair
And like a small boy with a prized balloon,
He just wouldn’t let go.

He bathed in each inch of earl grey slur skin
Till his fingers mottled with cream
He stretched in the glace arch of her feet
Till his body grew tired of rest
He drank her pink laugh dirty
And he swallowed her contented sigh
And when her lip quivered like a cat’s tail
Telegraphing her circle skirt yawn
He perched on tender hooks to see

Maybe it was the moonlight he read in her eyes,
Maybe it was the rain he tasted in her step,

Or perhaps, it was simply
Her new bent smile,
Dragging him along
the crescent of her hips.

Author notes

I spend way too much time in starbucks with my little imaginings of the baristas.

I would really steal your images one day. This is absolutely beautiful - and you're 16?! WOW - I am in awe. The lines I quoted above are truly bautiful. I haven't read something as good as this except from poets like Nicolette, Tara, Carol, Rich... and many more. You have such a way with words. Beautiful metaphors. Just beautiful - I should read more of your delicious works.
