song of the wise bard

Wise old beard
and long white hair
a pipe between his teeth
who be this old man
sitting under the almond tree?

let me tell you of the things that are there
which you will not see
like the prophecies of the clouds
or the origins of the breeze
I know of the history of the stars
among other things
says he
Under the almond tree

For many years he taught what he knew
to those who cared to listen
and they found in the labrynth of his mind
a shining light did glisten
and he carries it for many miles
walking from road to field
until he sits and recites softly spoken uncertanties
under the shade of the almond tree
