Shinigami

What is this?
It fell from the sky.
Tool of death,
it's all mine.
The rules are there,
I read each line.

Write the names,
cleanse the world,
causing death
with each word.
He think's he's clever.
He think's he's smart.
I'm much better.
My game is a finely tuned art.

I know the cost.
I'm aware,
...what I've lost
but I'm prepared.

My sense of justice
may seem odd,
but criminals be warned,
I'm this Kira, this new god.

Author notes

This was inspired by the anime Death Note. It's a really great anime. It's good both dubbed and in the original. Check it out if you ever get the chance.

    -Cuddles her DeathNote- Purely genius... a good friend of mine actually got me into Death Note and ended up in us writing basically an on-going RP about Sayu and Misa. But that's besides the point, the poem was amazing and I can see why you would deserve the gold. ^_^

    Excellent, just excellent! I actually got hooked on Death Note awhile back. Excellent on describing Light fo when he found the Death Note.

    great description,fast paced much like the anime. Deathnote is pretty good too. Loved the way you started the poem 'What is this?' It makes one wonder what is it that the poet is hinting at (but ofcourse a smart way of engaging the reader!) and then 'It fell from the sky', the next line just peaks the interest even more. Awesome,just awesome!B'luck in the contest
