My friends,
The Reds are at the parliament doors
They've come for our freedom
And they've come for our laws.
I am proud i was here
I watched this lion rise.
For fourteen days we ruled the world
Fourteen days they cannot deny,
Their tanks may be tougher
And their troops better trained
But we are a nation
That can never be tamed.
I could breathe this Budapest air
Through an eternity of struggle
For there is no place so magnificent
Yet no place so subtle.
So you citizens that hear me,
I bid thee farewell.
The country is lost to us now
And it doesn't matter whom we tell.
Take flight if you can
We shall delay them at the gates
Our futures out of our hands
And into the folly of the fates.

This was a good poem. You have a very powerful message here. Freedom is defiantly something we all take for granted. I enjoyed reading this poem.
Thank you so much for entering my contest and I wish you the best of luck.
