I have not forgotten the way, but a little.
I waited in the blue to lie there, and be still—
refusing to mourn the Winter, and how one
is so much like another. Something was burning
in the sky but that was so far above
I barely had to blink to clear it from the lens.
And under,
the cold was a Kingly comfort— tender hands
poised in the green growths; benign water-princes
that will spread until the water silences their songs—
Years and years ago you might have been here too,
there is always someone that spoils things.

The way those last two lines read in a whisper... now, that's pure poetry.
Damn good poetry here. An amazing use of the contest prompt. An amazing use of natural talent.

"And under,

beautiful poetry..

Beautiful and benign in its alluding to sorrow
and the passing of things. Excellent read to take
in and ponder the many layers. Blue

Oh. This is a great little poem that you have going on here. I really like it. It makes me feel all cold and like I need to go put on a nice pair of fuzzy socks. lol I enjoyed the lines about spreading out princes beneath the water. It was really pretty and kind of mysterious. I don't really know what you're alluding to really with the last two lines but they sure sound good.

i like this- beautifly written and lovingly wrote

Wonderfully done. You understand this poetry thing huh?
- well, for those readers who might miss the subtleties ... it's all in the metaphor people! - not ten dollar words or complicated language. This is so very pure.
