She's getting claustrophobic
and everyone's too near
standing in a downtown mall
wishing she weren't here
All the signs on all the walls
are telling her to buy
she knows she really should
but has no idea why
Nothing here looks good
the shoppers aren't content
they keep their eyes glued to their gifts
their faces full of grim intent
the lights-they all look tacky
the music sounds so fake
from loneliness inside her
her heart begins to ache.

Yes, we need to focus more on the spirituality of Christmas instead of greed.
