if all we do is sit and wait
nothing will be as we wish
nothing will come to us
take a step and plant it firm
it may be a choice to turn
but if so far you have come
don't look back
there's nothing left behind you
move on and keep the pace
don't falter
don't stop
it's your life to make
it's your choice
decide whether to go on or not
make a pace and keep it until the end
the end will come no matter what
it's no use to try to run
it will come
it will come
to choose the end when it is too soon
will cause the fates of others to change
and others will fade
others will fade
the sorrows and the joys will blend
become one and turn bland
cancel each other and evolve into nothing
life will be nothing
just a game
its all just a game
a game of chance, a game of lies
there are no truths to be found in life
only lies, but you must choose
which lies will you choose?
smile and bear with it
everything will change
life is change
those in darkness will find light
and those in light will fall into the darkness
tears will turn to laughter
while laughter becomes sobs of grief
life is a flip of the coin
but we must all continue on
for what is life if not a game
for the living to enjoy?
so don't falter in your path
don't look back to seek the light if darkness is before you
it will come your way once more
all you have to do is wait
all there is to do is keep going
and wait.
Author notes
I was inspired to write this after reading a poem my friend had wrote. He's a bit depressed... I think that telling him to smile will not work. He needs to know that life is more than what you left behind and what you think you see and hear. I wish he was a bit more open-minded and would see both the good and the bad instead of just one or the other.
This just kind of flowed out of me... so it's not perfect, but I'm too tired to fix it now. Its 12:30 AM currently and I know I'll be up for a few more hours (I've gotten too used to staying up late... I've turned nocturnal!), but I just don't feel like writting right now...

Good truths
"if all we do is sit and wait" "don't look back there's nothing left behind you". A lot of individual and personal reflection can be taken from your poem. You are a deep thinker and in my opinion...clued in to the more realistic and unfrilly truths of life. -
