When I was just a young boy
My father used to say:
“That wisdom is in listening dear
And not growing hairs of grey”.
One day I was running freely
But freely did I fall,
And I cried but father told me
It's a lesson for a soul.
I was amazed and asked him
Of the words that he just said
His reply was quick and certain:
“In falling we are made.”
In falling we learn to stand
And we learn not to fall again,
To me this kept on ringing
Like a melodious refrain.
But father said “My son
Your learning is incomplete,
You need to teach the others
Not to stumble on their feet
For learning if unshared my son
Is not learning after all
There is a need for sharing
That others may not fall.
A man does not exist
For himself and himself alone
He is a brother of mankind
And mankind is his own."

Bravo. I love the message here sent. I will have to share this write with others. Your father was a very inteligent being and if all could listen and learn from this the world certainly would be better for all. I have never read a better poem on the site.
