I remember every christmas, you shared with all us kids,
when I got my GED, you showed how proud you were of me.
I am thankful you found a loving wife, even after you were sick,
to take care of you, and guide you since you yourself couldn't see.
I know you worked very hard, you worked as long as you could,
and when my daddy was sick, you were always there for him.
I hate knowing you had to suffer, just like my daddy did,
I want you to know you brought sunshine, to days oh so dim.
Looking at your face I see, such a resemblence of daddy,
it made it hard for me to see you face to face after he died.
When I would see you at my momma's house,
I would get in my car to go home and on my way I cried.
So now you suffer no more, the awful pain has gone away,
I want you to know that you have touched our lives in a special way.

and we are far apart, and don't talk like we used to anymore and it hurts a lot,

Sorry.
But it also seems that in a way it was good that he passed so he wouldnt suffer anymore.
