Aloha Santa!

Aloha Santa! From the land of sand and sun,
I have a few wishes, before Christmas comes.

If you don't mind, I'll ask you today,
not to leave gifts, but to take things away.

First stop: Aunt Janet's, to pick up her cancer,
no one has a clue, let alone an answer...

If you want to leave her a gift, too,
make it the strength to see the year through.

Then when you're flying over the mid-east,
could you pick up the guns, and lay down some peace?

As you fly 'round the world, in your sleigh,
could you stop and take hunger, just for a day?

You could leave those people some extra food,
a week, or a month's worth! That would be good.

If before hunger, you take away greed,
it will cut the amount, of food, you will need.

Pain, contempt, anger and sorrow,
please trade them in: for a brighter tomorrow.

There's so many things to just take away,
I'm afraid there won't be room on the sleigh.

I'll ask you to start with chaos first,
and give us just one night, of peace on the earth.

In conclusion, (to make this quite clear,)
I'd like peace, love and hope in the coming new year.

Just one more thing thing, before I go!

are so heartfelt and filled with the hope
of a brighter future for all of us. If only
these things could really happen, even if it's
just for a day. Well done my friend and mahalo

all the best with it in this contest! Take care
    and have a great one!

In a perfect world, these would be the things to ask for and receive but alas, if it were perfect or even close to it there wouldn't be the need. This is a wonderful heart touching write that you can tell came from the heart. Best of luck in the contest. Be well and be blessed

this is a great poem! don't you just love being able to ask for anything? it makes it seem so simple....hey santa, just pick up the bad things and drop down the good. it's funny cause if we all just worked together, it just might work that way.
i like how you give us pronunciation...i still don't know if i can say it in Hawai'ian, but it's fun!
