461 OCEAN BOULEVARDE by efhjr.

461 OCEAN BOULEVARDE (c) Copyright 2007 by Earl F. Hubbard Jr.
(from ON THE ROAD, AGAIN / A YELLOW BUS BOOK of PEACE & LOVE (Book Three) coming in two weeks - or so!)

We formed 'The Moonshine Jug Band',
near Ocean Boulevard,
by the sea and sand,
in the back of someone's yard.

The number on the door,
read four sixty one,
'Don't you LOVE the Summer,
and the beauty of the sun?"

GrandPa played a jug,
after passing it around.
While we drained it clean,
not a drop fell to the ground.

Passion played a washboard,
Vicky - a squeeze-box,
Lily played her banjo,
in mellow yellow socks.

Mars Bar played the flute,
Sue - a bongo drum,
Lilya had a tambourine,
she shook to kingdoom come.

Hilly had maracas,
she shook like crazy, too,
Dillon was the master,
of the mouth harp and kazoo.

Me? I played my 12 string,
the mandolin -a sweet sitar,
While Cara Lou strummed away,
on her ukulele and guitar.

We did some twelve bar blues,
and lots of bluegrass songs,
zydeco and calypso,
in bathing suits and thongs.

We played until the sun,
said HOWDY to the moon,
when we stepped into a house,
to play another tune.

We did 'I Shot The Sheriff',
like Eric Clapton did,
in the nineteen seventies,
when I was just a kid.

HAPPY played the bass drum,
with his steady, wagging tail,
Pyper played some pots and pans,
You should have heard her wail!

Vinny played the tuba,
and the tenor saxophone,
Michelle sang the day away,
till all the cows came home!

    bluegrass, country, folk and jazz
listening to it all, night or day
with a bit of classical and rock added in
to give all a chance to enjoy
a summer in the land of your Magic Bus

    ......but I didn't shoot the deputy...lol
And where does the back-up singer go, I ask??...
    Marley's version was better, BTW..
This bus, this magic bus, where's my tix?
I can be ready in an hour.
I haven't yet learned any instrument, however, I can bang away and be convincing...
    Wonderfully written, fun.
    Always,
    Jin

this is quite a band we've got together here. I hope the locals can put up with all the noise we are making. Practice makes perfect though so hopefully we're not too bad by now as we've been playing for a while
