Moon dappled water, caressed by the night
Owl hoots a greeting as he takes to flight
Echoes of evening so soothing to hear
Wash over us as we slowly draw near.
Sitting in silence we wait for a sound
Tiny feet muffled upon the soft ground
Field mouse inquisitive, bright eyed and small
Comes from the woodland to spy on us all.
Bat wings are flying so fast in the air
Searching the the darkness but nothing is there
Only the rustling of leaves on the tree
Whispering softly to you and to me.
Lovers together we snuggle so warm
In our own kingdom where all dreams are born
Nature is watching, she waits for a while
Then closes her eyes with a soft knowing smile.
