I am not worried about society,
its wisdom falters about humanity.
When one turns their head
they can see the world watching,
eyes lurking in the shadows,
surveying the situation.
How do I measure up?
I can see the gray tones,
even in the darkness,
and when I am supposed to
fall in line with the masses....
I can't.
I think...to me anyway...
the truth changes color
according to the light.
I want to hold a bright spotlight up,
illuminate the realities of others,
would they change color then,
the right and wrong I mean,
would they change color?
I think that the text book
black and white
has become a little dog-eared,
and maybe we need to revise the edition.

There is a compelling message here.
Seeing life and living life in color,
and marching to the beat of your own
band; basically living life on your terms.
I like it, I like it a lot.

I liked your poem...powerful light in you!
I really enjoyed your poem! Thankyou for reminding us
to ask ourselves those important questions! Smart write,
the truth changes color...perhaps that's our self-defense
mechanisms..deep fears..that it could happen to us...
the old fight or flight, easier to pretend or hope the
government will erase the problem for us.
I see that in America right now....we just can't think
that the federal government has the money and will to
do all that is needed. It's going to be us ...one american
at a time doing making one difference at a time,
no matter how small..so we don't have to w orry about
that glaring light..exposing all the fearful plights.
