Carols and hymns
sung in peace
a time when fighting
seems to cease.
Jingle bells
replace the guns
serenity
the day has won.
Children's laughter
clears the air
when often their tears
show lack of care.
This season
when our saviour came
a place for all
He did proclaim.
Yet shouts of anger
and war's fiery flames
brings in focus
earthly shame.
Every day
harmony should reign
get off the wheel
of vanity's pain.
Bequeath to our children
a world of peace
where truly happiness
has release.
