it's a club for mothers who lost a child.
We never asked to be a member here,
and the meetings we have are never mild.
Who decided we should belong to the club,
these mothers whose love is so strong.
I would never wish this on my worst enemy,
the reason for this club seems all wrong.
Yes we grow great friendship in the club,
we have a sisterhood of sort you could say.
We seem to be stronger in numbers is true,
as we walk holding each others hand day by day.

I've lived through alot of loss in my life, but never the loss of a child. How fitting that I should read this, since this week, I almost lost my four year old, due to a simple infection, that'd developed in her left lung. I have been scared to breathe, for fear of losing her. I don't know what I'd do without my girls, they are my life. I am so very touched by this, the honesty is just extraordinary!
Stay with your club, sure, we'd wish there weren't a need for it, but I can only wonder how you'd survive the crushing grief without each other.
All my best to you, in this life, you've touched me far more than I can express, thank you for taking the time to enter.

Excellent Poem
Oh yes I could relate most definitely!! You wrote this poem so very well. I wish I could share it with a few other moms? The title "The Club We Hate" is a perfect title. The first line, The club we all hate to belong to. Then the last line, as we walk holding each others hand day by day. Such a true, raw, emotional poem.
Thank you for being one to heip hold me up!! Thank you for sharing your poetry with me.
Blessings

For every child that is lost to a mother it is a sad day for sure. I too have lost one myself. I like the dedication, but it still isn't ever to ever talk about it! ~Sie

The most tragic club of all!!! Only those who hold membership in the club can understand the pain of losing a beloved child....My hearts aches for all those members. Bless you.....

-
very heart felt
I feel the pain and am sorry for all those in this club, yet glad you have all found one another. -
No one can ever truly understand such a loss, unless they have experienced it for themselves. It is wonderful to have such a sisterhood for friendship and support for such a devastating loss. Though they are friend and not family, the bonds may be even stronger for you all share some devastating emotions. And it is good to have someplace outside of the immediate family/friend circles, where your can express these emotions openly without continued collateral damage. NOBODY would desire to join this club but I'll bet the members are happy to have found each other... Bless you all...

awwwwwww
How sad, this is a club that no mother should have to belong to. But this poem brings out a good idea. You should really start such a club on AP. It might be very helpful to many. God bless you, Mark

A Club
my own dear mother has belonged to now for almost 16 years.
There is not a phrase here, I cannot relate to as I have watched her deal with my brother's passing.
Wonderfully penned and full of honest emotion. Thank you for sharing.

This is so beautiful and sad at the same time. So many people go through this and are terribly changed and scarred by the events that take place. I'm sorr you have felt like this.
God bless you though, you're an awesome friend to me, and best wishes to you in the contest.

Very good but sad poem. You are right about friendship and sisterhood and everyone should hate to belong to this club. A very emotional piece.

Personally I hope to never join.. But I have known the taste of loss..
It is bitter and heartwrenching.. you wrote of it so well that I can imagine my Mother's grief when she lost my Brother Richard..
And it only makes me draw my babies tighter to my own breast and send love to you..
