trick-or-treat

little cotton-tail
seizes candy from “old witch”
shakes “behind” in glee

Patricia Gibson-Little

Author notes

This is about my niece Meghann who I took trick-or-treating when she was about 3.  When she finally got up the nerve to get some candy she grabbed it turned around ran halfway down the walkway and stopped to shake her butt while yelling back “you ain’t getting my little cotton-tail.”

Cute last line - fit right in with this halloween scene. LIttle kids are so much fun to take our on this special dress up evening. They just love it and are in awe of everything.

LOL That's so cute. Good job I'm not much for haiku but I liked this one it was simple and sweet. Good write.

Yes, I think this 'works' I think this is so darn cute! Helped me get into the mood for Halloween, although with a five year old boy I don't need much help. Isn't seeing it through a small child's eye just simply magic? I think this is simply adorable, loved the haiku loved the author's comments too. If you haven't already, you should show this to the niece, maybe she'd get a kick out of it. Make her feel special. You obviously love her so much.

LOL how cute. Shaking the behind is what made me smile. Really cute and fun to read. Meghann sounds adorable. I bet you still laugh when you think of her doing that.

This will be my daughter's first Halloween. She is too young to eat candy and to shake her little cotton tail this year. She is ten months old I am dressing her up like Eyore and taking her to visit family and friends though. Hopefully she will enjoy it as much as I will.
