A Time To Be Happy, It's Christmas Time!

No sleep is the mothers sigh!
"glass of milk and a mince pie
left there for you know who
someone with an elf or two.

dads shoulder droop as he shuts the door
every year kids want more and more.
"hope they like their presents"
Father said as he flopped into bed.

Hooray, hooray it's Christmas day
open presents and out to play
One thought on their mind
presents and gifts left behind.

Rifles raised, "Bang! bang! bang! they said
fellowmen dropping dead.
Sodiers on the borderline
hold your fire "It's Christmas time"
"Peace and goodwill to all men."

Luke 2:14
"Glory in the heights above to God
and upon earth peace to all men of goodwill"

I love Christmas! Too bad that to so many people the Christmas spirit only lasts/comes once a year. It should be present every day, and should be celebrate every day as well.
Your poem is so cheerful and lovely, made me smile.
    Thanks for that

Interesting write. This time of year I always think of when I was in grade school. I lived in a small community in the midwest. Poor kids if they were fortunate, got a couple pair of jeans and a new jacket for gifts, and the kids of wealthier folks got all the goodies. You could see the humiliation in the eyes of the less fortunate. Anyway, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with Christ, just about who wants what!
