Winter Fir

It's  chilly glistening eve
My love and I walk though the crisp snow
To his every word I cleave
Tonight everything is aglow

We enjoy this time alone
No hustling and bustling not much of a sound
As we approach the large pine left alone
The emotions are almost profound

This fir placed here when small
On our first winters walk
I stop and ponder when he grew tall
Every year in the cold come here and talk
