Birthday Present Love

I know you hate your birthday,true
let me say, I will always love you
I meant what I said
I meant what I did
I looked deep into your eyes
to see through your disguise
I know you feel the same for me
tis why you kissed so passionately
a present from me to you
was me making love to you
we held each other tightly and closer still
I love you of my own free will
this love for you I cannot change
but my love, I must rearrange
I love another, but I love you too
you say you're not ready, yes that's true

I know you'll fall for her, once in embrace
then in no time, you'll erase my face
the love we had, the love we shared
when we made love, I thought you still cared
love is a blessing, love is a curse
making me feel better, yet worse
I know you'll always love me but I fear
that our love's ending is coming near
a beautiful girl, young and sweet
will have you once you two meet
with her blond hair and blue eyes
I'll be nothing, not even a memory, a diguise
I guess my present meant nothing to you
but after all is said & done
I'll always love you

    Awww...the joy of making love to someone and the pain of that love being so quickly forgotten. To be replaced as if you were a broken coffee cup...that just stinks sometimes...I did so enjoy this piece. Good write. ~gypsy~

    That first part about loving your ex is so sweet, Followed by a verse that's very sad. An emotional write overall. It breaks my heart But that's just a sign of an excellent poem. Great Job!

      thank you so much for your comment. this was a very hard piece for me to do and the raw emotions in it are some that i sometimes want to drown and make it all go far away. in some ways i wish i never wrote this piece because the person i wrote about it doesn't care and i have a bad feeling that he never did. i wish i never cared for this person, but i appreciate the fact that you enjoyed this piece. thanks again!

    This was a wonderfully written poem. It was sweet and truthful. I loved how it flowed all together and how it was really nicely set out.

      you are a great and wonderful friend, Emma! i'm so grateful that you were able to comment on a poem that meant a lot to me...i don't think that the person that this poem is about shares your opinion...i think he's kinda upset about it or just doesn't like it...either way you have no idea how much your visit and your wonderful words mean to me here right now...my heart was full of so much love and pain when i wrote this poem and i'm glad that it touched you...sorry i wasn't able to give you 5 stars, i was just getting the hang of AP...i'll make it up to you, dear friend! ;0)
