Little Brown House

Missing image
Little brown house lies empty
If I knock on the back door
Will you answer, invite me in?

I miss you more as days go by
Reaching for the phone to dial you…
You could always make me feel better.

Always full of love for us all
Giving every bit of strength
Your loss leaves a void in life.

Picture of you sits on the shelf
Looking very peaceful now
No one knows what you suffered.

The loss in your daughters eyes
Goes beyond what words describe
Your sister is lost without you.

Sleeping in death as you wait
For the resurrection to begin
When you are called from the grave.

Coming back to a paradise earth
No more sickness or death to suffer
As the whole earth will be at peace.

I love this for many reasons. The word choice was just...wow. I was glued to it, from beginning to end. I also love this because it's scary (literally, I have goosebumps) of how much I can relate to this feeling, this situation. Except, he is not dead...just isolated. At least from me.

I love this with all my heart. Thank you for entering the contest and following all the rules. I wish you the best of luck!

    Very good

The shell of dark that surrounds the author’s words acts as a cocoon protecting the poet from the hurt of the words as they pour from the heart. Full of emotion that rips into your mind and heart and leaves its mark. This reads as a beautiful tribute to a person you loved, your friend. You gather all the loving memories shared in your life and surround yourself with that love. The magic that exist in your life is personified in the closeness you had and the loss you feel for your best friend, confidant and source of inspiration all in one treasure.
