There is a white cloth across the ground
There is a sky of dark navy,
The laughing children we can see
Are listening for sleighbells' sound.
A gentle smell of dinners cooking
A smell of the well burning fires
Their crackling smoke growing higher
The snowflakes fall as we're looking.
We're walking deep in dark forests
In a fine world of fairytales
In the snow are cats' trails
And we can all begin to rest.
The firtrees of forests whisper warm romance
And lovers hold hands in the cold
We hear the memories of the old
And watch the girls' rehearsed dance.
This is a time when magic's sent
And children excitedly sleep
Into this fine winter, deep,
We wait for our presents.
