Soft hushed and thick
a comfort curtain drawn by heaven's hands
lain in gentle folds and mounds
full of all the colors of a life too human
bleached as one when united for the season.
Containing perfect flashed facets of diamond-cut clarity
strong in the gentle blur between here and my neighbor
forgiveness in stars and spirals
that freefall like feathers of joy
and bathe with cool mystery.
Reflect beneath the quiet cover
snuggle in deep and spin a silken crystal web
of sugary touches to shivery fingers
and telltale yarns that won't unravel
til after the new year dawns.
