Unlike snow, all of my sins
share the same DNA
a clone of the last one
each the same devilish design
They fall at my feet
the stench and stain
no white of nature
pure enough to make them disappear
no good deed or sacrifice suffice
As winter's blanket covers
my heart is exposed
to the same elementry lusts
greens of envy, scarlett passions
a perverted rainbow
from one dark light
I feel a chill in my soul,
but that is all I feel,
the cold deep down inside,
nothing to cover the mistakes
no soft stars to cool my tongue
Then I am reminded
what turns black to white
reflecting now off a Christmas sun
grey made crystal clear
like icicles playing on trees
Deep red drips down a cross
turns to shades of mercy,
gloriously white
sin hid under my Savior's blood.
