You are bright-eyed member of fluttering choir
testing a scale of notes traces in breath-kept cold
Lonely pathway lights curve to song of sparrow
like heart to sound on brittle air
A small brown bird, bends head beneath wing
waiting for lost company of chorus
Abstinence of ache for angels
comes on your highest note courage
Patience chirping in small song-sighs
in stippled throat-grip of waiting out winter
Author notes
Dedicated to my middle daughter, (the mother of six) who had a new baby early while moving and whose husband scratched his knee in the move and has flesh-eating disease that has left them shattered but still singing praises that things are not worse than they are.

Wow! I read your author notes and my heart really goes out to your daughter and her husband. I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

The poem is remarkable. You are definitely gifted. I notice that your poems always push the walls away and the reader has a moment to look more deeply into the heart of the issue you present.
Thank you for sharing your poetry with me.

ty Zayra... I am so often angry at her and her choices...but right in the heart of the matter is that I love her so much because I know she has courage and that, if only, she coudl turn that courage to positive things, she could have it all.

Soulfully soothing dedication to your Darling
Daughter. I'm teary eyed and touched...

Lainee has the fortitude and faith of her Mother!
I wish you both well.

I think she does...it is drowned and cracked just now... She has been on my mind all weekend...I am not sure she made it through clean since I have not been able to get hold of her...

Ahhh, this is such a wondrous penning of pain, passion & promise, Sweetie. I believe I know where her courage comes from, my dear Friend. Good luck in Zayra's contest...May the flutter of wings grace Lainee's ear with songs of solace & healing.
