with eyes raised,
like perfect pearls
to rage of sea
her currents scrub
white sand
and seashells
offer no words to comfort
there is no path
or refuge
and I-
like driftwood,
must swim
through life’s
blues,
for survival.

i have used driftwood a couple times
in my writes- it is such a force to be reckoned with..
soft, porous, susceptible and yet.. surprisingly resilient- and when
it dries.. beautiful
very nicely done this poem.. glad to find you here.

I'm helping Mary witht the judging - and now I got to read the poems that I've missed somehow.
This is lovely - it has a universal ring to it - so many can associate with the process of trying to stay afloat in life's blue seas. Nice weave of nature and human emotion here. Well done.

lovely lines... an adept interpretation of blue and a strong and accurate metaphor for life, a life that could belong to anyone...

Al this is really great. The soft intonation of words makes one drift even as a wood.
Thanks for sharing and keep writing.
