Diamonds, precious, yet shattered into a million piece,
Broken promises and dreams laying a waste this icy cemetery.
For here it is my heart has died and here it is it lay,
A bride standing here without her groom,
For you her groom shall never sway from your forgotten ways.
The icy cold wind send chills down my spine,
As time waste a away waiting the day my heart does not ache at the thought of you.
Many time I have shed this garment which taunts me so,
Only to reawaken still dedicated to you,
As you walk your path far from this chilling river flowing as your life does.
Roses to ashes and I still keep that single rose you gave to me,
The first, my one true sign of love, never wavering as I do not.
And here I contemplate of you and how things would have come to be,
For I know I left and here I stand searching for my heart,
Frozen in time in a sea of ice yet I can not seem to glace it.
If you knew the last time I saw you would be the last time,
The last time you saw my face, would you have changed it all?
And now its all too hard for I can not be with you,
The other half of me, my one true groom,
So here I stand my frozen heart unable to shed this garment of love,
A bride without her groom, married to the idea of being married to you,
in love always 'till death do I part, never retrieving my soul from your heart.

This is an extremely powerful piece you have penned here. A great take on the prompt chosen. The imagery of emotion itself is very pained, with a certain longing. Beautiful! Than you so much for your entry & Best wishes in the contest!
