elusive as it may seem.
Deep in the realms of your emotions
one can find their dreams.
As mystical as the wind
the heart can love or offend.
Callous and cold, yet warm
and affectionate, the heart is
an ocean of quandaries.
A valley of passions that
know's no boundaries.
Darkness looms within
its corridors.
Awaiting to whisk you
away.
The light of hope
keeps you grounded.
So that in times of crisis
you can always find your way.
On an axis of vast proportions
the heart suspends in time.
As the center of the universe
where one can find peace of mind.
The heart is a connector
to the eternal presence of
enlightenment.
Listen closely and you
will hear a sweet small
voice drawing you near.
To a place of harmony
within yourself,
where you can be free
without doubt or fear.

I find there is so much going on in this poem, a lot of telling and not showing, I love those lines above and would love to see your heart explored more as this 'sweet small voice'.. or as "a connector to the eternal presence of enlightenment"..I also feel that this poem could use some line breaks to highlight each thought...there are some amazing thoughts and ideas in this poem, I would have liked to have seen them explored more in depth...thank you for entering my contest..

very well put together. I liked the way you incorporated such vivid imagery into the theme. The rhyme did seem a little forced to me; a lot of times, you shouldn't let the rhyme carry the poem, it can get a little tedious if you do. Just concentrate on the words and feelings that you want to convey. all in all this is a great work, my favorite lines are:
"The light of hope
keeps you grounded.
So that in times of crisis
you can always find your way."

Ahh the tricky old heart and how it can play with your mind body and soul.
