To Breathe Life

I came here
as a messenger
to give life
wherever I could.

To the ground I love
to breathe life all around
to the colors that will
swirl one day and
give back again.

To the children in the
neighborhood I share
my wealth of knowledge
in history, art or enjoy
reading fun cool books of Suess.

My most favorite of them
is my puppies at home, that I
give my heart to and yes I agree
they are man's best friend for I
even let all three sleep with me.

So light and airy that just reading it is soothing. I do believe that my mission is helping others. The line "suffer the children unto me" has always meant that I, too, should hold them dear. And I do love them all so much. What joys they are. As for pets, my best friend is my dog, Codie. SHE is all love.

Awww this is so delightful; it has a child like quality which highlights the pearls of wisdom here for all to take. The second stanza is stunning and reading it I felt I knew exactly where you're coming from; you feel it so deeply and know that no words are adequate yet yours get pretty close and take me there. I think you could write a new poem based on that verse and it could be amazing.

    Peace Georgia

and divine the purpose to work with children and with animals. These words truly reflected the depth of your compassion and the dedication of your warm heart.

I love the first verse- so intriguing and perfectly penned. The second verse is my favorite- it paints suc a vivid, swirling image in my mind- and the last verse made me smile:]. The message of this poem is lovely and I sincerely wish you the best of luck in the contest!
