Cookie Crumbs In Empty Hands

I've got a box of cookies here
that I sometimes I hate to share.
But now I have no one to share with
because now you aren't there.
Sure it's delicious...
Who am I kidding...
I LOVE THEM!!
But sometimes I wish,
I could have someone to share all that love with...

It seems a little  weird...
wanting someone to share with.
But I guess after having just a taste of what its like
I want to keep it... forever.

But enough with this talk of wanting love...
lets talk more about that cookie!
It can be soft and sweet
or hard and crunchy.
Hm...
sounds a little like me.
No, not the delicious part...
(but I won't deny that just yet)
I mean the various aspects of...
MOI!

I can be nice and sweet and just loving all day long.
(Hey, don't push it)
Or I can be hard and stubborn to break.
Something branded into me by those creatures who
claim my person, their child.
Just a fabulous work of art,
if I do say so myself...

But back to the cookie.

Have you ever noticed that cookies are never fun alone?
I mean...
some people eat cookies and milk,
cookies and candy,
ice cream, other types of cookies
and dare I say... chocolate sauce?
(Talk about a chocoholic.)
And sure,
you can eat the cookie by itself.
But I have to say...
it becomes very bland after about the 5th or 6th one...
ok... maybe the 10th...
but you get my point.

Maybe life for me is just like the cookie?

I do good by myself, don't get me wrong.
Hell, I'm a natural born loner...
YeY me!
But to tell you the truth...
I think life would be a little easier...
a little softer...
just a little more tasteful...
if I could have someone to... satisfy my cravings,
my... need for something more than, well, me.

It's amazing how I can compare myself to a cookie.
No... no,
I take that back.
It's amazing how the cookie compares to life...
Nope.
That's wrong too.
It's amazing how life compares itself to a cookie...
it's just that awesome.
